The House I live in

If I would have the opportunity to make the film “The House I Live In” then definitely I would also follow the same steps and process. The story of this film is not a fake but all the character and events in this movie are based on reality. So, first of all, to have inspiration to make a movie like this is very vital and EugeneJarecki’s inspiration was his Nannie. He often says in his interview it was the life of my Nannie because of which I was able to research more and more about drugs and the people affected by it. So he really worked hard, because to get a complete background of the story is most important. The way Director Eugene Jarecki conducted interviews with families who were suffering from this cycle of drug and criminal justice system and then the way he got information from wardens, judges, medical experts and scientist is just up to the mark. All the struggle he went through is what made his film so mesmerizing and amazing.

Like director Eugene Jarecki, I would also not just sit back with this. I would go to some people who are directly affected by the war of drugs and would hear their stories how they get into this and did they ever try to get over it? The answer of all such questions is very important to get a complete knowledge about the feelings and struggle they go through. I would also go to some rehabilitation center to find out if they are doing something positive to eradicate this evil from our society.
